Prenatal care

Once you receive the good news, OBGYN Westside will provide the care you and your unborn baby need during your pregnancy, ensuring that important milestones are met. This care is crucial for mitigating any potential problems along the way and provides peace of mind.

A common prenatal schedule looks something like this:

  • Monthly visits  for weeks 8 through 32
  • Twice-monthly visits during weeks 32 through 36
  • Weekly after week 36 until birth

This schedule may be different for high risk pregnancies, depending upon each patient’s unique needs.

Postnatal care

After delivery, your doctor at OBGYN Westside will guide you to make sure your entry into motherhood is a smooth and healthy one.

What about high-risk pregnancies?

All physicians at OBGYN Westside are experienced in handling most pregnancies, including high risk pregnancy issues such as:

  • Advanced maternal age (35 or older)
  • Prior cesarean section, vaginal birth after cesarean section
  • Pregnancy related to in vitro fertilization 
  • Twins 
  • Previous other problems with pregnancy
  • Medical issues such as thyroid disease, hypertension, diabetes

Depending on your situation, together with you, your provider develops a plan of prenatal care that is specific to your needs and adjust it as necessary. 

Does pregnancy care include delivery?

OBGYN Westside provides complete obstetric care, including delivery and postpartum care.   

The team believes that vaginal birth is usually the best option and, as a result, OBGYN Westside has a low cesarean section rate. The team also understands that vaginal birth is not always possible or the best option for everyone and is experienced in both planned and unplanned cesarean delivery as well.
