Obgyn Westside welcomes Dr. Rohitha Baskar.  

We are pleased to welcome Dr. Rohitha Baskar, a board-eligible physician to OBGYN Westside. Dr. Baskar earned her bachelor’s degree in Cell and Molecular Biology through the accelerated seven-year BS/MD program at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia, where she was awarded the Zell Miller Scholarship. She subsequently completed her medical degree at the same institution. 

During medical school, Dr. Baskar demonstrated a strong commitment to service and leadership. As Philanthropy Director of the American Medical Women’s Association, she organized multiple fundraising events supporting local women’s organizations. She also served as Vice President of Student Curriculum for her class. 

Dr. Baskar completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. During her training, she developed particular interests in high-risk obstetrics, complex family planning, and gynecologic surgery. 


Dr. Baskar is passionate about caring for patients throughout all stages of their reproductive and gynecologic health. Her clinical interests include adolescent gynecology, preconception counseling, obstetric and prenatal care, labor and delivery, contraception, and menopause care.

She places a strong emphasis on building meaningful, long-term relationships with her patients and providing compassionate, individualized care tailored to their unique needs. 


Outside of medicine, Dr. Baskar enjoys traveling, hiking, discovering new restaurants, and exploring 
all that New York has to offer. She is fluent in English and Tamil.
